I am once again flying out to California Thursday night. This will be my fourth time there this year. That doesn’t sound right in my head. My best friend, Mai, is showing her some of her work in a fashion show. It’s her first show and I want to be there to support her.
It should be fun. I’m renting a Canon 85mm 1.8 lens from LensProToGo. I’m really excited about that. I’m renting it for two weeks so I will be able to play with it more after I return Sunday night.
You regular readers probably know my drill when I’m out in Cali. I’ll have limited internet access when I’m there so I probably won’t blog while I’m there. I will as always twitter all the time, like I do. Those will be summarized and automatically posted here everyday at midnight. If you want live “coverage” of my trip you can follow me on twitter (JavaJunky)

Steve Jobs will once again give a keynote tomorrow at WWDC. I’m usually very excited about this, but for some odd reason I’m not this year. Maybe it’s because I already know that the 3G iPhone is going to be the main topic. It’s cool that it is, but I’m still waiting to see the first batch of Android phones. I don’t care if Jobs says “BOOM” a million times. I’m not running out to buy it tomorrow if it’s available. I guess I’ll just watch what happens without any expectations like every other time.

As you all know, I love twitter. Twitter is the glue that holds all my “social media” sites together. When it’s down, is when I realize how much I use it. I never knew how much I wanted to use a micro-blogging system until I tried twitter. There has been a lot of twitter alternatives that has come around and Plurk is the most recent one. I must say that Plurk definitely punched twitter where it hurts. In the last week since I’ve heard about it, I’ve seen many people not only try out Plurk, but abandoned twitter for it.

I took a great photowalk today at Minnehaha Park. It really was more of a photohike. I shot a lot of photos. You can view the whole set here.

I’ve only left California three days ago and this afternoon, I’m going back. Only this time, instead of San Diego, I’m going to San Francisco. San Diego was fun and interesting, but I don’t know anyone there. San Francisco has Mai, my best friend, so I’m looking forward to it. I’m going to visit her next month for her fashion show, but it’s great that I get to see her early. Also cool, I will again be setting up the Mac Mini media stations at the Moscone Center. I’ve been to San Francisco three times and I’ve never seen it. I’m going to try and refrain from doing any Steve Jobs impressions while I’m there. I’ll limit myself from saying “BOOM” to ten times. This time I am a little sad that I’ll only be there for two and a half days.

It’s a little gloomy today in San Diego. I’m sitting in my room overlooking downtown and the convention center. I’m can’t go anywhere right now because I’m downloading the new animations that I need for the Mac Mini media manager that I’m working on. I’m sure I’m also slowing down the office’s connection too cause we’re on DSL over there. Every time that we have someone download off our server, our connection slows down. I haven’t been down to the convention center yet. I just spoke with my contact there and he says there’s no internet access so I have to download everything first before heading over there.
I have some photos I took from my hotel room up on my Flickr right now. I was going to walk around with my camera after work today. So look for some more photos tonight. I don’t have my laptop with me so I’m already missing Lightroom and MarsEdit. I’m writing this with WordPress’ editor right now and it’s just not as good.
