Trying To Run. Again.

Published by JavaJunky under Running

My running schedule has been completely destroyed by my work these last few weeks. I may have ran twice in the last three weeks. Today is one of the first days that I was able to leave work at a decent time. I took full advantage of it and ran just over 5K. It felt so good, but I was a bit sluggish. I’m hoping that this week I can get back into my routine.

30 Minute Run On Summit

Published by JavaJunky under Running

Instead of doing my usual 5K today, I opted to go with a 30 minute run. I wanted to try something different. Since it was so humid today, I figured that I couldn’t actually do a 5K anyway. Since I have asthma, I don’t like to push myself in these conditions. I felt good after the run. I might do more 30 minute runs so I don’t feel so pressured to run 5K every time.

2.5 Mile Run

Published by JavaJunky under Running

It was hot today. It’s going to be a steady 80 degree week. The sun was almost at full force. I haven’t ran in a week because I was staying late a bit work last week. So today I was not expecting to run more than a block before quitting and going home. I did end up running 2.5 miles. Definitely shy of my usual 5 kilometers. I actually set my run to 30 minutes instead of a distance. I won’t be able to run the next two nights. That means I have to go Thursday and Friday. I really need to go buy a bike so I can at least do some late night biking to work my legs a little.

Rough Run

Published by JavaJunky under Running

Today’s run was not great. It was sunny, hot and humid. Not the best conditions for me to run in. My pace was already slow but with 2 kilometers left, my left ankle gave out a little. I strained it a little bit. Nothing serious like last year, but I had to walk a couple times loosen it up.

Sunny On Summit

Published by JavaJunky under Running

The rolling hills of Grand Avenue got to me. After my pitiful run on Monday, I decided to run on Summit Avenue. It’s definitely more level than Grand. I was not getting tired until around 3.5 kilometers. I think I’m going to run Grand only once a week.

Return Of The Cold Run

Published by JavaJunky under Running

For some reason or another, Mother Nature decided that it should be fricking cold today. It rained most of the afternoon and was 46 degrees when I got off work. I decided to run anyway. I definitely have ran in much wetter and colder situations. Today was not that bad. I ran a full 5K and I took my time. I don’t think I should push my time too much until I’m back on a regular run schedule. I hope that it’s this week. At least I’m going to try to stick to my schedule this week.
