Lies and Betrayal
If you are to betray me, stab me in the chest, not my back.
I saw an ad in a magazine today and I knew that I had to do a layout like that. This is a saying that I’ve always lived by. Continue Reading »

JPG Magazine is shutting down on Monday, January 5, 2009. They are my favorite photography magazine. JPG was a user based magazine where people submitted photos and were voted on by JPG users. There were amazing photos in every issue and I’m really sad that they’ll be going away. Right now you can download the back issues along with other stuff in PDF format. They will continue their Flickr Group. You can read the official post about it here. I’ll miss you a lot JPG!

I just finished my second Black and White Week project. I’m happy with the way it turned out. I learned a lot more on how much effect just a single source of light enhances a monochromatic shot. I definitely got more contrast. My first B&W Week project was not complete because I was interrupted by the Art Crawl in the middle of it. I encourage all of you photographers out there to try doing this or a similar project. I guarantee you’ll learn a lot from it.

I’m flying out to Houston Friday morning. It will be my first time there. I am visiting my friend, Linh. Hopefully, I’ll be eating like crazy. I’ll have limited or no internet access down there. As always, I will be twittering throughout my trip. If you want to see what I’m up to, follow my twitter. I’m JavaJunky on there too. I will be back in Minnesota on Tuesday night. Expect photos.

Today, I met Mignon Fogarty, one of my favorite podcasters. She is more commonly known as Grammar Girl in which she does a podcasts that gives a grammar tip in a fun and informative manner in every episode. I was introduced to her work on Absolute Science, her podcast about science. Being complete nerd when it comes to science, I quickly digested all the past episodes. Sadly, at the time that I started listening to Absolute Science was also when the show was nearing its end. Because I loved that podcast so much I wanted to give Grammar Girl a try too. Not surprisingly, I was hooked on it rather quickly.

Flickr just release Uploadr 3.0. This version has been streamlined. It allows you to easily title, describe and tag your photos before you upload them. It works much better than version 2. This release definitely gives you more control of your upload process, making it even easier than before. I used it to upload a few photos today. I highly recommend you check it out. It is available for PC (XP and Vista) and Mac OSX (10.4 and 10.5). If you don’t have a Flickr account, why are you reading this post? If you take digital photos, you should have a Flickr account. Go sign up now.
