Steve Jobs will once again give a keynote tomorrow at WWDC. I’m usually very excited about this, but for some odd reason I’m not this year. Maybe it’s because I already know that the 3G iPhone is going to be the main topic. It’s cool that it is, but I’m still waiting to see the first batch of Android phones. I don’t care if Jobs says “BOOM” a million times. I’m not running out to buy it tomorrow if it’s available. I guess I’ll just watch what happens without any expectations like every other time.

As I’m typing this, Geoff Smith and Cali Lewis announces RingtoneFeeder. It’s a subscription service, $1.99 a month or $19.98 a year, for getting custom ringtones for you iPhone. These are not just any custom ringtones, but they’re original songs by Geoff Smith. It integrates with iTunes. Looks very easy to use. More details here. Go check it out. Geoff Smith is an amazing artist. I almost want to get an iPhone right now.

Ok, I’m a few days late on this post, but my database server was down. There’s already a lot of coverage on everything that was announced at the keynote at MacWorld 2008 so I don’t need to go into details about everything. Here’s my quick take on the announcements. Continue Reading »

Nothing unexpected here. But it’s officially announced now. The big question is what is going to be announced. The only rumor going around is an ultra mobile laptop. That bodes well for me. I want apple to announce one so that I don’t end up buying the Asus Eee PC. As much as I want to buy that right now, I feel like if I do, Apple will announce the perfect laptop for me and I’d be kicking myself again. I did buy the last-gen Nano a month before the current one was released. I’m not too pissed at that, but a notebook would be different. Even if Jobs doesn’t announce a ultra mobile, an updated MacBook would work too. Something a little lighter and more powerful than the current generation. It’s time to update that line. I don’t really give a crap about a new iPhone, unless they release a 64GB, 3G, unlocked version. The big keynote is on January 15th, 2008. I’ll wait and see. It’s weird how there’s so little rumors flying about.

Apple has released the v1.1.1 iPhone update and it seems that it is not exactly bricking the unlock phones, but is putting them in limbo. You can’t reactivate the unlocked phone without an AT&T sim card. Hopefully the Dev Team along with others will figure a way to fix it. I didn’t think Apple had it in them to brick all these phones. I’m glad I didn’t jump the gun and buy one. I’m sure I’m not alone now.

Both Engadget and Gizmodo has confirmed the open source iPhone unlock. I figured it was only a matter of time. Now if I can only get my hand on a 16GB iPhone and then unlock it, I’ll be golden.
