Nike just added a cute little feature to their Nike+ site. It’s a little Nintendo Mii-like character called a Mini. You get to customize the look of your Mini and it’ll allow you to share your current run with the help of the little character. Nike even provides you with a Facebook app that talks about your current run. It’s a neat idea.

Today I decided to run a different route. I usually run along the river on Shepard Road. Today, I drove down to Summit and Dale for my run. It’s much livelier there, a lot of other runners and bikers. I ran just over 5K today without any issues. I had a small case of heartburn from the massive plate of spicy Thai noodle dish I had for lunch. I really need to plan my lunches better on my running days. I eat late lunches and if it’s a big meal, it’s still sitting in my stomach when I go running right after work.

Only made it 3.03 miles today. Just felt slow today. I may have burned out too fast.

Last week I was preoccupied by the Art Crawl. Most of my nights, I did not get enough sleep. This also meant that I didn’t have time to run. Today, I finally got back to my regiment and I’m still a little sluggish. Wasn’t completely bad. I only ran 3.02 miles. I didn’t have any major issues. My left ankle was a little sore, but it was okay.

I finally got off work today at a decent time which allowed me to go for a nice run. The weather was gorgeous. It’s cooler by the river so I still had to wear a hat. I not yet at on a regular running schedule. With my crazy workload these last three weeks, I been running at sporadic intervals. I am hoping this week will be better in that regard.

I finally recalibrated my Nike+ today. It was much more accurate afterwards. I haven’t ran in almost two weeks because of my crazy work schedule lately. I got off work at a decent time today. It felt good to run again. It was a little chilly though. I was expecting mid-40’s, but it was 39 when I started running. I didn’t have my winter running gear with me, just my regular running gear and a hoody. It was not that bad after I warmed up. My left ankle didn’t want to run today. I had to stop for a minute halfway through and stretch it out. It was fine after that. I really need to make a new music mix though. It’s not motivating enough. I’m still aiming to hit 10K in two weeks. It’ll be tough, but I think I can do it.
