Wasted Continuum

I got my Level 4 Access Kit by Jonathan Coulton on Monday. This package was so perfectly thought out and included so many things. I love it. You can see all my photos of it on my Flickr.

I finally got around to editing my other video from the Minnesota State Fair. Here is Weezer performing (If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To. If you missed it my first video, make sure you check it out here.

Last Saturday, I saw Weezer perform live at the Minnesota State Fair. This was my fifth or sixth time seeing them live and every time they just kill it. Here they are performing Undone (The Sweater Song) which along with Say It Ain’t So are my favorite Weezer songs. Rivers says a few hilarious and very true statements in the beginning. He also dons a pair of Superman skivvies towards the end of the song. I shot this from a distance with my Canon S95. It was difficult as a Weezer fan to hold a camera still while they rocked out on stage. I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Les Paul passed away today. I can’t even begin to state how important he was to the history of the electric guitar. Not only was he the one who made the solid-body guitar the way we know it today.

Besides being an inventor and innovator of the guitar world, he also invented the Gibson Les Paul line of guitars which happens to be my favorite kind of guitars. This guitar I’m holding is Josie. My first guitar was a cheap, old guitar I bought off my cousin. Josie was my second guitar, the one that I really wanted and saved up for. Took me forever to come up with the money for it but I still remember the very first day I got it and the moment that I plugged it into my amp. I was in love. Not all guitars are made the same. I love all my guitars, but Les Paul guitars are little more special to me.

Rest in peace, Les Paul and then rock on wherever you are.

For those of you who have been following my Flickr photostream this week may have noticed the lack of interesting photos. This week has been crazy and I did not have much time or even the energy to take any decent photos. I had a couple hours today to kill so I really wanted to use it to go on a photowalk. Since the Taste of Minnesota was this weekend, I thought that would be the best venue for it.

So I’ve been a little down lately since my grandfather’s in the hospital. (He’s doing a little better today). After I left work today, I wanted to pick up the new Weezer album hoping to cheer me up. To say that music is a huge part of me is a massive understatement. There is almost always a song in my head or pumping into my ears or in my fingers when I’m holding a guitar or sitting in front of a piano. As I listened to the new Red Album, I got to track four, "Heart Song". It’s about the songs that has that have been there for Rivers Cuomo.
