Red Red Rice
My girlfriend, Liz, has a lot in common with me. This obviously is not surprising. I brought this up for a reason. One of the things we have in common often is our random food cravings. Today it resulted into a nice dinner that I would have not likely prepared if not for such randomness.
Today, Liz told me she was craving red rice. I have never heard of red rice so I was intrigued. That led to her showing me a recipe of it. And that led me to hacking up that recipe and making my own. Mostly I took the beans and corn, and added bacon and various spices. I also cooked the rice in my smaller Dutch oven which worked perfectly. The red rice tasted amazing. Moral of the story is that Liz is usually right even when it’s her appetite speaking.
