Coffee: Golden Thyme

Published by JavaJunky under Coffee

I checked out Golden Thyme Coffee Cafe last week. It’s the coffeehouse on Selby that hosts the Selby Avenue Jazz Festival. They have drinks named after famous jazz musicians. I had the Cab Calloway, which is their cappuccino. It was very flavorful. Not super strong, but the flavor was there. I also had a blueberry muffin. I was hoping they had some of their other pastries, but they were out. The walls are decked out with paintings of musicians. It reminded me of Muddy Paws Cheesecake over in Uptown. The cafe has a banquet room beside the main cafe area for various festivities. It’s a little bit more laid back. It’s definitely a place to check out.

Apple: Getting Ready for Black Friday

Published by JavaJunky under Apple

Apple: We’ll Be Back SoonThe Apple store is down right now while the geniuses are hard at work preparing for black Friday. I wonder if they’ll actually have any good deals. Any good deals may actually be a ploy to make you buy the product before they release the new version at the MacWorld Expo. If they have the iPod Touch at a ridiculous price, I may have to get one.

Cooking: Best. Turkey. Ever.

Published by JavaJunky under Cooking

Turkey
Holy frick! This new recipe blow my last roast turkey straight out of the water. Hands down, this is a superior recipe. This was an amalgamation of four different recipes that I found. I need to write up a final recipe of what I actually did so that I can use it again. It was just ridiculously good. I only messed up the skin a little bit. Nothing I can’t change next year. Damn. I think I may have finished a third of it by myself. The last two roast chickens I made recently definitely gave me some ideas in this recipe. I’m glad it worked out. I ate a lot today and I think I’m going to pass out now.

A few things that I am thankful for:

  • My family
  • My friends
  • My mind
  • My cooking experience
  • New music, like Sara Barielles
  • Old music, like Green Day and Chopin
  • My bed
  • My health

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.
